Source:hindustantimes.com

Pakistani actor Veena Malik recently did an item song Channo from Gali Gali Shor Hai.

Pakistani starlet Veena Malik, who became famous post her stint on the controversial Bigg Boss 4, is now gearing up for Swayamvar Season 4 – Veena Ka Vivaah. In fact, she has set a record of sorts by garnering the maximum number of entries (71,240) for the reality show on Imagine TV, bypassing earlier celebs Rakhi Sawant (30,000), Rahul Mahajan (43,000) and Ratan Rajput (54,000).

And while a number of ‘applicants’ are from India, Pakistan and the UK and US, the starlet has also received entries from Poland. An excited Veena says, “I am overwhelmed by the response, but was thrilled that the maximum number of entries were from India.”  Delhi, Haryana, NCR, Moradabad, Uttarakhand are the front-runners with 41% of the entries coming from these areas.

Mumbai and Pune follow at 38%. The show also received over 600 international entries, with 39% applications from Pakistan and the rest from Saudi Arabia, UK, USA, Poland, New Zealand, Bahrain and Nepal.

“I knew that guys serious about getting married would send in their profiles, but over 71,000 is a number beyond my expectations. And though I was expecting entries from the UK, US, India and Pakistan, I found it surprising to see a large number of entries from Poland,” Veena says, adding, “I think Pakistani and Indian girls are famous for their beauty, family values and tradition, which is why even guys from Poland are interested.”

Veena Malik is more than just a celebrity!

Source:newspakistan.pk

Veena Malik, the Pakistani actress-cum-model, is one of the most talked-about celebrities in the country at the moment. It hardly matters if the discussion is about politics, entertainment or society issues, for some reason the name of an actress whom we
allegedly hate always gets dragged in. People are using her as an insult, as a compliment (special thanks to a rickshaw driver for helping me realize this), or even a standard of cheapness.

It would be so wrong to state that all of Veena’s efforts are in vain and that she is not even close to becoming one of the most popular figures (perverts are advised to keep their thoughts in check) in the country. From what I have noticed, the name Veena
Malik has become even more popular than our beloved President Asif Ali Zardari, with someone somewhere in Pakistan uttering her name with utmost affection (kindly sense the sarcasm).

A number of people would be outraged to find me use words such as “famous” and “popular” while talking about Veena. If they are for some reason trying to assert that I am wrong to use such words for someone who, according to them, is better suited to the
word “notorious,” I can request them to get over their double standards already. If Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian can be considered famous despite their cheap antics to get recognition (yes we all got that particular email about Paris in our hotmail five
to six years back), then there is absolutely no reason to treat Veena any differently.

There may be very few people who are actually aware of the impact that Veena has made in their lives. The woman has done everything right to gradually inject her with a drug that has made us obsessed with us. She may be slight over-weight, she may not be
the prettiest chick (calling her an aunty could be considered offensive by her fans and internet trolls) on the block, but she has definitely become an integral part of our daily lives.

People who prefer to dwell in denial can keep doing so, but the fact of the situation can hardly be argued with. Veena has become one of the most popular celebrities in Pakistan.

I’m not stripping for any film: Veena

Lollywood actor Veena Malik, who shot to fame with reality show “Bigg Boss”, refutes rumours that she is going nude for Rajeev Ruia’s Zindagi 50:50, reports Times of India.

Earlier, reports suggested that Veena, Pakistan’s controversy queen, may be taking her being-in-the-buff image a step further in Zindagi 50:50 by going nude for some scenes in the film. However, when approached, Veena dismissed the speculation, saying, “I’m not stripping for any film. I have never gone nude nor does the film have any such scenes. There are a few bold scenes, but they are aesthetically shot.”

The actor, who is playing a sex worker in the film, further adds, “When Rajeev approached me with the role, he wasn’t very confident about whether I would be able to pull it off. I prefer playing a bad girl rather than a cute, bubbly one. My ideal role has to be negative, strong and performance-driven,” reports Hindustan Times.

Veena recently grabbed headlines for copying Angelina Jolie’s now famous Oscar pose on the runway. But she denies doing it deliberately, “Nothing was actually planned. When I wore the gown, my legs were sticking out and that was the only way I could have posed. If you see the picture, I have no fancy hairdo either.”

Meanwhile, the actor, who was in the eye of the storm when she posed for a magazine with an ISI tattoo on her arm, retorts; “When I spoke about Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif, they called me a cricket bookie; now they are calling me an ISI agent. I am not a spy, I am an actor,” Times of India quoted Veena as saying.

Veena is all set to do an item number in Zindagi 50:50 along with Riya Sen, who was dating Veena’s ex-beau, Ashmit Patel.
